Volleyball Sub-districts! The volleyball team will begin post-season play on Monday, November 3, at St. Paul. Gibbon will play Ravenna at 4:30 in the first round. Click here to view the Class C2 10 tournament bracket

Football Radio Broadcast! The playoff football game on Friday versus David City Aquinas will be broadcast over Classic Hits (98.9 FM) and KKOT (93.5 FM) radio stations, and can also be heard online at kkpr.com and mycentralnebraska.com. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm. 

Football Playoffs! Congratulations to the football team on qualifying for the playoffs. Gibbon is seeded 12th in the Class C2 16-team Playoff Bracket and will play 5th seeded David City Aquinas on Friday, October 31 at 7:00 p.m. in David City. Good luck and Go Buffs! 

BTV Broadcast! The video production class has completed their first video broadcast. The video is approximately 15 minutes and will open up in YouTube. The class plans to have a monthly production. Click here to watch the October BTV video.

Cody--allstateAll-State Choir! Congratulations to Cody Spencer on being selected for the Nebraska All-State Choir! He and Mrs. Sinnard will travel to Lincoln on November 20-22 where the All-State Choir will sing at the Nebraska Music Educators State Convention. Congratulations also to Libby Allen and Maria Rodriguez, who were chosen as alternates. Great job!

 Veteran Hero! If you would like to submit a form to be HUNG UP on the “Wall of Honor” in the commons during the week of Veterans Day, download this “My Hero” form or pick up a hard copy in the high school or elementary offices. Please return the completed form by October 31st to Mrs. Stroh. The Wall of Honor will be a display of our living and deceased Veteran heroes who served during peace time or during a conflict.

Sing Around NebraskaSing Around Nebraska! Congratulations to the students who were selected to participate in the “Sing Around Nebraska” Honor Choir in Lincoln on November 7-8: Tristan Fisher, Eric Rodriguez, and Marcus Smith. This is a select group of about 125 fifth and sixth graders from around the state. Congratulations, boys. 

College Representatives! During the school year several college representatives will be coming to Gibbon. Juniors, seniors and their parents are invited to visit with them in the guidance counselor’s outer office. Please let Mrs. Neubauer know if you plan to attend. The following colleges will be here during October: Tuesday, Oct. 28, UNO (1:45); and Wednesday, Oct. 29, CCC–Grand Island, Hastings, and Columbus (1:00).

EV-D68 Enterovirus! You may have heard on the news or read in the papers of the EV-D68 virus affecting children in bordering states. As of Friday September 12, 2014 there has not been any cases of EV-D68 Enterovirus reported to the health department that serves our area. Activity Pins Available!  The Gibbon FBLA is selling activity pins for athletes, cheerleaders, music, and Shimmers. Pins QR Codemay be purchased of any individual for $6/one pin or $5 each if you purchase two or more pins of the same picture. Payment is due at the high school office when you pickup your pins. 2013-2014 Yearbooks! The yearbooks from last year will be available after Thanksgiving break. Orders can be picked up then. Extra copies of the 2012-2013 yearbook are available. These are currently on sale for $25 in the high school office. 

Academic Assistance Available! Academic assistance is available for students in grades 7-12 in all subject areas.  This assistance is available from 3:30 to 5:00 Monday through Thursday.  This assistance is strongly encouraged for students who are failing class work.  Interested students or parents are encouraged to visit with or call Mr. Witt at 308-468-6555.
