GPS Contact info2012-2013 Calendar Finalized! The Board of Education finalized the 2012-2013 calendar in its regular meeting on May 14th. The finalized calendar can be accessed by clicking on the following link:  2012-2013 School Calendar. The administration and Board appreciate the comments/suggestions received from the public.  

State Track Qualifiers! Congratulations to Dillon Eckel, Eli Van Matre, and Kylie Wallace on qualifying for the Class C State Track Meet, which will be held in Omaha on May 18-19. Dillon qualified in the 800, 1600, and 3200 meter races; Eli qualified in the pole vault and 400 meter dash, and Kylie qualified in the high jump. Congratulations to these athletes and their track coaches. Good Luck!

District Golf Champions! Congratulations to the boys golf team for winning the C-4 District Golf Meet held at Lochland Country Club on Monday, May 14. The team qualified for the state golf meet, which will be held at Kearney Country Club on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 22-23. Great job!

GPS Positions Available! Gibbon Public Schools is accepting applications for the 2012-2013 school year. A position is available for a high school language arts teacher and a position for food service manager. National Honor Society! Congratulations to the students who were inducted into National Honor Society at Academic Honors Night on Monday–Hannah Cudaback, Olivia Hyde, Ryan Neujahr, Ryan Milks, and Rylee Reinertson. 

Physicals and Activities Screenings! The date for activity screenings provided by Hansen Clinic in Gibbon will be July 17, 2012. Shelton students times will be from 8:30-11:30 and Gibbon students from 1:30-4:30 pm. These are activity screenings for students in grades 8-12. Seventh grade students will need a complete physical and should schedule an appointment for a different date. The cost for the activity screenings is $15–no appointment is necessary. The following schedule will be used:  12th grade–1:30; 11th grade–2:00; 10th grade–2:30; 9th grade–8:00; 8th grade 3:30; and 4:00 for late arrivers.

Free physicals will be offered at Kearney Clinic on Wednesday, July 25 at 6:15 for boys and Thursday, July 26, at 6:15 for girls.

2012-2013 Athletic Forms! All student athletes will need to have a physical and the packet of athletic forms completed prior to beginning practice next fall. Click on the following link to access the packet of Athletic Forms. In addition, August 7 has been designated for registration night. A notary will be available for notarizing the necessary forms.
